TOBACOLI Vaccine

HANVET TOBACOLI is a vaccine for the prevention of diarrhea and edema disease in pigs caused by pathogenic Escherichia coli. Developed from local virulent strains isolated in Vietnam, the vaccine contains a broad spectrum of antigens including pili, somatic, and toxin components, offering comprehensive protection.

Each mL contains:
Multitype E. coli antigen 1 × 109 CFU
Edema disease toxin antigen AGID (+)
Aluminum adjuvant (Alum) 2 mg

HANVET TOBACOLI is indicated for the active immunization of pigs against diarrhea and edema disease caused by pathogenic E. coli strains.

The vaccine is formulated from multiple virulent E. coli strains isolated from diseased pigs in Vietnam. These strains were selected based on their antigenic profiles to ensure broad coverage. The antigen complex includes:

Somatic antigens (O): O141, O108, O149, O8, etc.
Pili antigens (fimbriae): K85, K85ab, K91, K88 (F4), K99 (F5), K987 (F6), F18
Toxin antigens: LT, STa, STb, and notably VT2e – the primary virulence factor in edema disease.

Thanks to advanced formulation techniques, HANVET TOBACOLI not only contains whole-cell and localized antigens (lipid, adhesion, surface), but also includes detoxified exotoxins of E. coli. These toxin antigens induce strong anti-toxin immunity, significantly enhancing the vaccine’s protective efficacy.

Route of administration: Intramuscular injection in the neck area, behind the ear.

Dosage:
- Piglets: 2 mL/head

Vaccination schedule:
- For piglets: vaccinate at 7–10 days of age.
- In endemic areas or during outbreaks, early vaccination may be applied at 5–7 days of age, followed by a booster at 15–20 days of age.

*Shake the vial well before use. Use sterile equipment. Avoid vaccination during high fever or acute infection periods. Only vaccinate clinically healthy animals.*

Contra-indications
Do not use in unhealthy animals or during acute disease episodes. Use only in healthy pigs under veterinary supervision.
Storage
Store at 2–8°C. Protect from light. Do not freeze.
