Angola and Vietnam trade relation has been promoted proactively since the agreement between the two countries was signed in 2008. In 2013, the total value of Vietnam exports to Angola reached 127.7 US Dollars, an increase of 10.3% compared to 2012. According to the latest updates, the two-way trade was valued at 72 million US Dollars during the first half of 2014, in which Vietnam exports to Angola were valued at 65 million US Dollars -a decrease of 4.6%, which was reportedly due to the economic chao in Angola. Agricultural products still occupy the highest position in the list of exports. At the same time, the number of Vietnamese people living and working in Angola increased by up to 30.000 people (as of 2013), reported by the Embassy of Vietnam in Angola. As such, Angola is currently considered as having the most potential for Vietnamese business.

Attending the delegation group, Mr. Ho Minh Dung, Vice General Director of HANVET said: “ It was such a good experience to be a part of the business group. I have learnt a lot about the country and established relations with the top leaders in the agriculture field. I believe it would be prosperous for both sides if our new partner could help us identify the market and cooperate for an appropriate strategy.”

Back from Angola, HANVET looks forward to having the opportunity to export antiparasitics for treatment of trypanosomas in cattle in Africa.
